Are Imported Flowers so Bad?

Individual and business membership logos

I became a florist because flowers have fascinated and beguiled me since I was a little girl. I love all flowers, with the exception of marigolds, I hate those garish, smelly, sticky imps, everything else I can always find a use for, from chrysanthemums to orchids.

I’m not at all precious about where they are grown either, I love a British daffodil as much as a South American Eucharis. I am predominantly a wedding florist and I simply couldn’t run my business on solely British grown flowers, although I think some flowers are much better sourced locally such as dahlia, cosmos and sweet peas that never seem to travel well.
