Are you ready for Small Business Saturday!!

For the 9th year, Small Business Saturday, a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which celebrates small business success and encourages consumers to 'shop local' and to support businesses in their communities is kicking off! It all begins on 1st November with a UK tour designed to help small business do better and culminates in a special day of consumer focussed celebrations on December 4th.

Back by American Express and supported by BT Skills, last year saw Small Business Saturday achieved record-breaking success with an estimated £1.1 billion spent with small businesses across the UK on the day.

For the first time the tour will deliver a hybrid format of online and in-person activity including virtual workshops, webinars and mentoring on a range of small business topics, as well as on the ground visits and live-streamed interviews with local businesses in cities including Manchester, Belfast, Cardiff, and Edinburgh, as well as coastal towns like Whitley Bay and rural Hereford.

The day itself attracts huge attention on the day itself with an impact that lasts all year. Last year the campaign trended at number one in the UK on Twitter, with the Prime Minister, leader of the opposition and the Mayor of London among those publicly supporting the campaign. Over 90% of local councils also supported the campaign.

In addition, customers across the UK go out and support all types of small businesses, both online and in brick-and-mortar stores with many small businesses taking an active role in promoting the day by hosting events and offering promotions.
