Chelsea’s Unlikely Floral Stars

It’s a testament to how floral designers are embracing more unconventional materials that, alongside the traditional flowers and foliage you would expect to see at Chelsea, this year there were some more unusual materials in use, namely Angelica and Artichoke.  


Angelica is without doubt one of the most dramatic of all the umbellifers, and there was plenty of it in and out of the showground. Good use was made of artichokes too, both fruit and foliage, no more so than floral studio, Citrine, whose stripped back installation ‘BONES’ greeted visitors entering the show at the Bullring Gate.
