Destination Weddings

Karen Barnes shares her experiences.

I love my job. What do I love about it? Well, there’s a million-dollar question! I think my top five areas would be ….

  1. Flowers (obviously!) they are incredible to work with – so beautiful, a true triumph of nature.

  2. Being creative and inspirational.

  3. Meeting people.

  4. Being passionate about weddings and events.

  5. Travelling the world.

Destination weddings have always been available to book, generally in beautiful and often exotic places around the world, but I would estimate that in the last 15 years, they have become more accessible to more couples and offered through many more channels.

This then opens up more opportunities for florists, floral designers, wedding planners and event companies to become destination wedding experts.

I have been so lucky to have travelled the world and in the main, all due to flowers and my passion for our industry and creating spectacular floral designs. Destination weddings have become a large part of my business.

So, how have I secured these amazing bookings?
