It may have been Autumn; it may have been a whole new set of competition schedules but the Chelsea 21 Floristry competitions were every bit as awesome and inspiring … if not more so!
Judged by a mixed panel, including judges from both RHS and the UK Floristry Judges Guild along with guest judge Shane Connolly, competitors not only had to follow strict protocols … no foam, no glue etc … but interpret their theme to the minutest detail.
And given this was supposed to have happened in May 2020 and the applications were submitted back in 2019 … not only did competitors have to completely change the palette and mix of flowers and foliage’s to fit in with an Autumnal mix but had had to wait an incredibly long time!
Which is perhaps why it wasn't just fabulous to hear that the atmosphere had been amazing and the camaraderie amongst the contestants incredible but every single designer was awarded a medal!! Caroline Marshall-Foster was at the show to catch all the winners on camera ... see our Facebook page for the video interviews!
