With a floristry career spent in a busy high street shop in Birmingham which at its peak employed 26 people, Su Whale is a veteran of twenty-eight Mother’s Days. With that in mind, here are some of her tips for a successful and hopefully, stress free (ish) Mother’s Day.

Getting Organised for Mother's Day work bench

With such a short turnaround between Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day this year, it is more important than ever to get ahead and get organised.

Before the peak.

  1. Dig out your notes from last year and study them. *

  2. Sort out staff rotas and book extra drivers if you need them.

  3. Decide what you are going to sell in-house and produce a flower recipe.

  4. Do as much prep as possible, making bows, cutting cellophane/paper to size etc.

  5. Check stock of all sundries and extras, order top ups if needed.
