John Davidson (pictured right) has every reason to be smiling broadly. Because this is the face of a man who has just received the prestigious Fresh Produce Consortium title for Wholesale Flower and Plant Supplier of the Year at their star-studded Awards night held at the gorgeous Old Billingsgate in London.
Awarded to Tom Brown Wholesale, a 4 strong network of cash and carries in London, Doncaster, Huddersfield and Carlisle, the judges summing up said it was “A business which embraces challenge and offers customers exceptional service and knowledge.”
Speaking after the Award John Davidson, who moved from the world of finance to the world of flowers when he joined the family run firm said: “We are proud to have won the award after the most challenging of times for all involved in the floral industry.
“Brexit and Covid have changed the fresh produce space so it was amazing to be in a room of so many likeminded people across all sectors of the fresh produce industry.
The FPC award is always an important one for us as it is independently judged rather than being an open public vote. As a company we are proud to have won it twice now and it is testament to our team’s continual dedication to the industry as a whole.
We would like to congratulate all the other finalists for pushing us all the way, competition makes the industry stronger. We would also like to thank our customers and our staff in all our locations as these awards are only possible because of them.”
