Petite and delicate, Miniature roses are perfect tiny replicas of their garden cousins and, it could be said, no Mother’s Day plant display is complete without them. Occasionally referred to as the China rose as they originate from the East and are a descendant of the old Chinese rose Rosa chinensis.

Although only small in stature, their development over the past sixty years or so has been extensive, and there are over seventy varieties of miniature rose listed, available in every colour from purest white, through to yellow, orange and deepest red. Charming, pretty, with even their thorns in proportion to their size, these tiny roses have a cottage garden appeal all of their own.
