Preview: Chelsea & Belgravia in Bloom 2025

Chelsea in Bloom and Belgravia in Bloom are back for 2025. Even if you don’t have tickets for Chelsea Flower Show itself, it will be well worth a trip to the capital to take in the free flower festivals in Chelsea and Belgravia.

Shops and businesses in the very upmarket SW1 area of London will be festooning their shop fronts with flowers. Every year there is a theme; previously ‘Flowers and Films’ gave us Mary Poppins, Lady and the Tramp and Jurassic Park. For the ‘Summer of Love’ it was miniskirts and hippies and 2024 was all about ‘Floral Feasts’ of which the highlight for many was a life-size Winnie the Pooh’s Picnic laid out on the side of the King’s Road.

Belgravia join in the fun too; the theme is always different from Chelsea in Bloom but no less inventive. ‘Fun and Games’ in 2024 saw giant snakes and ladders and an oversized Rubric cube, amongst others, in the otherwise sedate and expensive surrounds of Kensington.

And these floral extravaganza are free to view, all that’s required is a map and a pair of comfortable shoes, but should your legs get tired, there is the option of being taken around the route by rickshaw.
