Commonly known as Honesty, this pretty summer plant is full of cottage garden charm with heart-shaped leaves and simple, four-petalled flowers.
Lunaria is more commonly used in design work as a dried flower and is often grown specifically for that purpose as its distinctive semi-translucent seedpods, which form in early autumn, are easy to harvest and dry. Don’t underate it as a cut flower though, it’s reliable, long-lasting and has a delicate, sweet fragrance.
