The world famous Dutch Flower Parade is on this weekend and we were lucky enough to get up close to the fabulous floats on Decoration Day, before they hit the streets on Saturday.
Here's a sneak peak at a few of our favourites.
Decoration days give visitors a unique look behind the scenes of the biggest flower parade in Europe. Hundreds of volunteers have been busy for days, piercing or pinning thousands of hyacinths, tulips and daffodils to the floats. The delicious scent of hyacinths filled the buildings with fragrance.
This unique event was held in the halls of DeLeeuw Flowerbulbs in Sassenheim.
The evening before the Dutch Flower Parade, the colourful parade of floats are illuminated and driven through the village of Noordwijkerhout, accompanied by flower-covered luxury cars and other vehicles.
